Chicken Breeds Question!

Can anybody recommend a great pet chicken for egg laying? I am looking for a breed that is docile and sweet, also.

Buff Orphington, Rhode Island Red, and Buff Cochin all are nice chickens that lay good. A silkie is nothing but a pet but they do not lay all the time.

My favorite for a Pet is a silkie but for a good layer my favorite is the Buff Orphington because of gentleness and hardiness

I would get a Silkie if you wanted a chicken for a pet. They are not very good egg layers, but are excellent mothers.
Black Australorps ,Buff Orpingtons Buff Cochins are good egg layers and are very docile . There is one breed not to get if you are looking for a sweet pet----the leghorn chicken! They are very flighty. Hope this helps you!
