Hopefully my title gave some attention to my matter, hah.
About two weeks ago I noticed one of my hens in the penguin position and acting a bit off. I separated her immediately, gave her two epsom salt baths over the two-week period, for a few days I put vitamins in her water, then regular water, and now she has apple cider vinegar in her water. I thought at first she was egg bound so I crushed up some tums and put them on some cooked egg for her, which she did eat quite a bit of. Now she is doing SO much better. No more penguin pose, she is dust bathing in the chicken patient quarters, eating, drinking, etc. I've noticed this white stuff started to appear on her backside and read it could be some sort of yeast infection (I've given her greek yogurt and the ACV since I've noticed this), so upon farther research I went out and bought some Miconazole 7. My plans are to give her another epsom bath and then put some of the Miconazole around her vent. Should I go this route?
OR maybe it is something else entirely different. I've included a not-so-fluffy-butt picture for any help I can get. Also, I read that some monistat cream is toxic, so here are the ingredients on the one I purchased: benzoic acid, butylated hydroxyanisole, mineral oil, oleoyl polyoxlyglycerides, pegoxol 7 stearate, purified water.
Thank you for any help! I really appreciate. I want to learn as much as I can to help my chicken flock when problems arise.
Also, she has not layed any eggs over these two weeks.
