hello everyone,

have two roosters which where fighting and now one can not open its eye. i am worried he might of damaged it pretty good, but not sure. is there any thing we can do to help him thanks.

to note we tried to wash it out with water with no luck.

I would get or make some saline and flush it out twice a day. Look for any debris or dirt in the eye. Can you get an antibiotic ointment, such as Terramycin, Neosporin, triple antibiotic or drop to use in the eye?

Agreed, pictures would help. If it won't open because it's got goo or crusty stuff dried there, then warm, moist/wet compresses will help with that, to loosen it up so you can open it. Once you can get it open then you can use sterile saline or veterycin eye wash to flush it out well. It could be injured or there could be debris in there. If there is pus, you will need to clean that out, if it's a fresh injury then there probably won't be any. You can use terramycin eye ointment (think you have to get that from a vet in canada) twice a day in the eye, or plain neosporin the same way if it's an injury, to help prevent infection. I would separate the roosters since they may continue to fight and it may escalate and you may have more or worse injuries. If he were to lose sight in that eye he can adapt, but will be at a disadvantage in defending himself.

Here is the picture he is kinda bloody from fighting thanks

I would try to open his eye with another person holding him still, to see if his eye is damaged, and put some antibiotic ointment in there to help prevent infection. Do you have plain Neosporin at home. It can be used twice a day.
