hi everyone, just a quick question, hope someone might shed some light, i have an adopted chicken that lives with my normal flock, shes about four years old,an ex battery egg girl, and until i rescued here about four months ago had lived with another chicken which has since died (unrelated as i think it was old age) in a very small hut.
shes very fat i would guess she weighs at least 6lbs and up till 2 days ago would eat all day if you let her.
however on coming home the other day i noticed she had trouble walking, now she cant stand up, she rolls on her side, and occasional has a cough.
i'm wandering if because shes so fat she may have suffered a stroke, heres hoping someone may have an answer because shes a game old girl, thanks john..

She very well may have had a stroke.. R u positive she isnt from a meat farm... Sounds almost like a cornish x to me... It seems that there are alot of hens having leg problems lately.. Poor things.. Sorry i dont know how to help other then keep her warm, quiet, with high energy food like scrambled eggs and hydrated .. Sorry your lil one is going thru this...

thanx coopcrazy, unfortunately shes now gone to the big chicken run in the sky, but i know she had a few weeks of good life even got to see some snow...
