Chicken chasing kids

I have had pullets who would peck people if they got too near to them but I have never had pullets who chase people. What exactly does the chicken do when chasing? Does she fly up and kick out with her feet? Or puff up her neck feathers? If not it could just be that the chicken is over enthusiastic about getting treats and is demanding more. Jumping into your daughters seat could just be that the chicken thinks that must be a good place to stand and she waits for your daughter to get up.

Try to see if your daughter puts treats down on the ground and reaches to touch the treats while the chickens are eating, does the chicken in question peck her hand away? Could be that the chicken has come to see your daughter as a member of the flock and as head chicken the pullet has decided your daughter is beneath her in the pecking order.

Have you tried temporary isolation and letting your daughter sit near the bird with a fence between them to give it some treats?

Thats kinda what i was thinking. I will have her try that. She can walk up and pick her up and hold her. Today she was hold her and got her face to close and she pecked her in the eye. Lucky it was on her eyelid. She does not use her feet or puff up her chest at all.

I've had a number of pullets/hens who've acted that way. Well, they don't chase me, but I imagine that's only because I don't run from them. They'll try to jump up at me or on me and peck at my hands, legs and clothes. As chuckachuka said, they are just excited about the treats. The easiest way to eliminate the behavior is to stop feeding them treats. I see your daughter likes to hand feed them, it would be so much better if she would stand and throw the treats down to them. Then perhaps the pullet will focus on the ground instead of on her. Also with her kneeling down like that any of those girls could easily jump up and peck or scratch her sweet little face.
