This is a four year old child, who needs to be taught safety and flock management, BUT likely can't do the things that we adults would have no problem doing, and at the right times. I agree with Gary on this one, because she's at risk immediately, and the fix won't be that fast.
Ryansmom seems to be a new chicken keeper, and may be inexperienced too, as far as being able to 'read' chicken behaviors. In my experience, the 'nicest' chicks are the boldest, and the most likely to push forward into leadership positions in the flock, and also decide that humans can be managed too.
