Chicken Coop under pine tree

Thanks everyone for your encouragement and comments. I'm in Melbourne Australia so the only predators I need to worry about are foxes and I don't think they can climb trees. I'll put the coop behind the pine tree and the run can be built around the tree. Hopefully the possums won't disturb the chickens. They are very active at night and we have lots on our property! Anyone know whether Jack Russells (dog) are good at protecting and being gentle with chickens. My Jack Russell (Shelly) is gentle when saying a supervised "hello" to our pet rat (Jack). I hoping she will look after them and keep the foxes away. Although a fox would probably be bigger than her but she's not short on courage!
