I hope without salt. A chicken cannot rid itself of excess salt like a mammal (or like a sea bird). Too much salt can be deadly to a chicken.

It was only one corn tortilla for 6 chickens. They've had them plenty before and go nuts for them

Yes, my hens are thrilled with corn tortillas, too. It makes my heart sing! Snails are another treat and is also an exercise event as they chase each other around playing drop and grab. I figure they are getting good calcium, too.

Corn tortillas have no salt. They are purely ground corn reformed and griddled. It's a very healthy food. My goats love them, too.

Do you just toss them the whole tortilla or break it up small?

I just toss the corn tortillas in whole, like a frisbee. The hens love to peck them and finish them off pretty quickly. I usually serve fresh garden greens as a side dish.

I take a bag of crickets and dump in the middle of the run and watch them go beserk, the hardest choice a chicken must make eat this one or drop before the next one its priceless. also I will hang the bag from a tree cut a hole in it and for hours they will stare at it waiting for the next victim.
