chicken death

My family owns 7 red sex-links and we keep them in the back yard. One day my neighbor saw one on our chickens getting attacked by our dog. I ran outside and scared our dog away. the chicken seemed to have a tear in the muscle but no bleeding. We took it inside for the night, and put some medicine on it. We thought it was going to be okay when it died suddenly in the morning. Was it from the trauma or the wound? the wound was not even showing bone and the chicken let me put the medicine on it.

it was shock

i had a cream legabr pullet that had her head ripped up right down to the skull

she survived 4 days of care and meds and continued to eat

the eventually passed away and slowly at that

died whilest i held her

it was defo shock as the woulnd was healing nice and no signs of infection and even when it happened no blood flowed from the wound

the legbar died on wednesday just gone

the accident happened saturday just gone


it was a sad moment for me as i love my legbars and she was a pure bred

my wife was devestated too

now im down to 4 pullets and a roo
