Chicken disappears then returns days later?

Glad to know she is safe and sound on her big pile of eggs. At least know she'll be safe and closer to food and water.

From what I have experienced, no broodies are happy broodies. LOL. I guess they have the same temperment as pregnant hormonal women! I have a sexlink(!! come one... a SEXLINK.. LOL) go broody the last couple of days, she is all puffs up like a tom turkey and fussing at anything and everything that moves and even things that don't. Broodies just aren't happy campers. LOL

I know this is late for this thread, and I am new, but I am so thankful for the insight. My sweet little "Lucy" I just inherited left a couple days ago and now I have renewing hope she may come back. I have been just sick about it.
Thank you!

Well, that theology certainly can work here because she sure hasn't came back. Guess I have to settle with the idea that I have to keep the rest of the incoming pent.

To be honest I believe we had some hungry neighbors that took a liking to Lucy because she was so easy to catch and they don't look like the type to let you know they found your chicken, if you know what I mean.
If she does come back, and that's a huge IF I will celebrate and then keep her in the pen. My fault, I really should have known better. No more free range chickens for me.
Have you hugged your chicken today?
