So my neighbor was over the otherday, admiring the progress on our coop when he mentioned that there are a few diseases that people can catch from chickens. He said that his mom caught something that effects her immune system... Anyone know about this?

Just curious!

Very, very few diseases are communicable from avian species to humans.

IF she caught something from the chickens, it is MOST likely to be a common bacteria, like E Coli or Salmonella.

Lesson to be learned: don't eat chicken poop.

And what did the article reccomend? Hmmmm?

Don't eat the chicken poop.
