Hi there! Nice to see you!

My flock consists of two Light Brahma pullets, named Kitty and Georgina.

Kitty is the bigger girl, and she is always first when the food gets put down.
She used to push Georgina off the roost, but they have since settled their differences.
Needles to say, she is definitely the sassier of the two. However, she is also the sweetest girl in the flock.

Georgina is the more flighty girl, but she's still quite easy going.
For a while, we were wondering if Georgina really was a girl, and we're still waiting for the egg to be sure.
She loves a piggy back out to the coop! I, however, don't love it when she poops down my back...

So, anyway, these girls share their yard with two dogs.
One of the dogs loves the chickens, and she even asks to be let in the coop to lay in it with them.
However, the other dog is a bit more, well, uptight.

A few days ago, they girls were out in the yard with the dogs and Daisy (the uptight one), was just minding her own business being a dog. Then, I see Kitty walk over to Daisy and start to peck her fur. Daisy just kind of sniffed her and that was all. Then Kitty stretched out her neck and bumped Daisy with her chest. It looked as if the chicken was giving the dog what-for!

That wasn't the only time Kitty has done this sort of thing, either. She really is a sassy hen and we love her!

I was so worried when we got chickens that the dogs would be a problem. I never would have guessed that the chicken would be asserting herself with the dog! It really is the funniest sight.

Yesterday, Kitty was pecking Daisy again and Daisy must have thought it was a game! She started wagging her tail and stuck her hind end in the air, in the doggie play stance. It was hysterical!

Anyway, I hope you enjoyed the tale of Kitty and Daisy! Thanks for reading and stay tuned for more stories!
