Ok, you know you're addicted when the chickens start showing up in your dreams!!

I'm really concerned b/c I've had two dreams with the chickens being torn apart by predators. In both cases, I didn't hear anything but only saw the results. Actually, in the last dream I ran out in bare feet to scare away the black dog that was mauling the flock. And I'm getting really concerned b/c the feelings I have for the chickens are starting to be overwhelming. Anyone else ever go through this weird emotional state?

I used to have those types of dreams alot when the chickens were younger.
It helps to remember that the dreams are constructed from your fears. The more comfortable you are with your chicken keeping set-up, the less fears your mind has to build on.

Are your hens in a safe pen? If you know that they are safe they will not be such a worry.
Your fears are probably to do with something else in your life. Your dream world attaches the fear to the things you least want to lose.
I used to dream about taking exams in subjects which I had never studied for years after I left school. The anxiety was more to do with life's challenges than past exams. If you can relax or work out what the dream is trying to tell you it may go away.

I have weird chicken dreams 1-2 times a week, and I don't even have my chickens yet!

In the last one I was playing some kind of life-sized board game where you had to jump on the electric neon flashing, rotating chicken for some reason. It would appear and disappear, so it wasn't easy

A few months ago I had a dream that I actually WAS a chicken! I was in a large chicken mill type thing where we were bred for laying eggs and then getting killed so people could eat us.
I don't know how, but I called somebody to come and get me because I didn't want to live in that place. (The person was made out of clay, like in Wallace and Grommet) I waddled down this ramp and hurried outside into the daylight but the people never came to get me...

I'm sure it was because at the time I had decided I didn't want to eat chicken anymore because the conditions in which they are kept is horrible, but it's not easy to be partially vegetarian when your family isn't. Well, atleast I don't eat meat except for seafood when I go to my dad's house. (Complicated situation.

I'm sure I would have more enjoyed being a chicken if I wasn't about to get slaughtered.
