Twice now in the last couple of days I have noticed a small amount of clear liquid come out of one of my chickens mouths (6-7 week old Polish chicken). The first time I thought I imagined it but now I'm sure.

She seems perfectly fine other than that and is eating and drinking as normal from what I have seen, very alert and not lethargic at all. She just kinda opened her mouth a crack and it came out and she went about her day like it was nothing, like she just drooled or something. Nonetheless, I'm pretty sure this is not normal.

I picked her up and had a sniff of her beak and couldn't smell anything, though I don't know if I did it right, but I'm thinking it's not sour crop. It's very hot at the moment, is it possible she just drank too much water or is this likely something more serious? 🥺 It isn't happening often from what I've seen, though I'm obviously not with them 24/7, but once, let alone twice, over the past 3 days is enough for me to be concerned.

Any advice on what this might be would be much appreciated.

I’m no professional but this happened to mine as well. Same thing! 2 different chickens. Only a little bit of saliva came out while they were bending down pecking at the ground. First time was over two weeks ago. Then again last week. Both are fine and I too was hoping they just drank too much water. I worry about every little thing with them and I just couldn’t stress myself out that time. 🤪 So I watched them the next few days and they are both doing great. I hope the same for yours!!!
