O.k. Now that is really gross, Does that mean that I should assume that Thumper is actually a murderer:bun

One time my pet quail was dust bathing in an old gopher hole that we thought was no longer used but when i came back to pet her like 2 hours later i found her butt up in the air and the rest of her body in the hole. When we pulled her out more than half her body was gone. I was sad

I housed our male rabbit for years in our Cockatiel flight.

One of my Female tiels leg band got hung up on the wire floor our rabbit everytime he saw us in the window or come out of the house would run up to the wire standup on his hind feet look at us then thump his foot and run over to the teil stuck and bump her with his nose.

From our house we could not see the floor of the flight so if he had not repeated this over and over to us she would have died on the floor because her mate was chewing her leg off to get her unstuck. Our vet amputated her leg and she lived out the rest of her life perfectly happy.

He was great with our birds even with them on the flight floor.

It's not that guinea pigs or bunnies are usually carnivorous. It's that they HAVE to chew on things. Wires, cables, chew sticks, TP rolls, cardboard and birdy feet...It doesn't matter.

It probably wasn't the gopher in the hole, but some type of predator. BUT::::I just googled and found this:
Although they will attempt to flee when threatened, they may attack other animals, including cats and humans, and can inflict serious bites with their long, sharp teeth.
