Getting more chickens may not totally help your hen. The new birds won't be her friend, so keep that in mind. New birds may attack her too, and bring in illnesses You definitely need to get a few more, but be mindful she's traumatized and probably depressed at the loss of her friend. New birds may or may not fix that.

I watched one of my hens go into a depression after losing her best friend that lasted nearly a year. I have plenty of chickens, but she was mourning her best friend. She would stand behind the barn all day by herself for months on end. To this day she still travels alone.

Yikes Well maybe I'll just keep babying her and hope she snaps out of it. We didn't plan on getting more chickens after these two went. And if new ones won't help there isn't much point to it.

I didn't say it wouldn't help, just that it may not help.
