Chicken Eye Diseases . . . Please advise!

I just recently joined this forum so if this has already been discussed...I'm sorry. I have two chickens that are having issues with one of thier eyes. It looks like the eye is totally covered over with yellow puss. It is not weeping or anything like that, but the entire eye is a perfect circle of yellow puss. The chickens seem to be otherwise very healthy. They are not missing alot of feathers or losing weight. They are both eating and drinking regularly. What is this and what can I do to cure it? Do I need to quarantine the two chickens from the rest of the flock until they are better? I have tried to research it, but there is so much information out there, it is hard to weed through it.

I would just in case. Because you don't know what is wrong and whether it can spread or not.
Is there a foul odor emitting form the infected eye? If it is you might have a case of INFECTIOUS CORYZA. I can be wrong, you can check out the thread I started recently and you can see whether not it is sometime you might have.
Where did you get them from?

It could be just a simple eye infection from debris getting in there. Take a warm wash cloth and clean out the eye everyday, use saline and flush the eye out and get some tetracycline eye ointment from the feed store (usually by the horse meds) It comes in a tiny tube. I believe its 3 times a day you put it in their eye, I believe the directions are in the box with the tube. If memory serves me right the meds were about $8

More than likely if TWO hens have eye issues than it is most likely Coryza. They will get hardened puss in one eye and sometimes also in the sinuses. Puss ball must be removed or it will take out the eye. Give Tylan 50 (cattle injectable at Tractor Supply) either under the skin where neck & shoulders meet, or down the throat. about 1/2 cc 2X day for 3-5 days. Know that if it is Coryza or a respiratory illness, they can be carriers and spread it to other birds, or it could also show up again when birds are stressed., so just do some research on it to be better prepared. I have a chicken who I have been caring for that has had diarrhea it seems to be getting better with OTC antibiotics, I have heard away from the other chickens. In the house in a kennel and I have been feeding her scrambled eggs, oats and vegetables. But she seems to not want to open one of her eyes. It opens a little once in awhile and I would say it doesn't look swollen or see any leakage but it does look like it might be hurting her. Should I but OTC eye ointment and try to see if it helps? I have been having to syringe water into beak since her vision is off.

Her eye may be irritated by coop conditions, an injury, or an infection. Many farm stores sell Terramycin eye ointment (you may need to ask for it since they lock it up.) Vetericyn eye gel may also be good to use. Those are both pricey, and some will use plain Neosporin ointment that they already have. I have used it on my chickens without a problem. I have read your other thread, and I don't want to scare you, but sometimes chickens with Mareks disease will keep an eye closed, have trouble seeing, and suffer from a lack of immunity to many common diseases such as coccidiosis and others. It is just something to be aware of and check out.

I have read about Mareks disease and it's possible but hard to say. I have read so much this week that I'm more confused than ever. My girl is living in the house in a kennel and I let her out during the day, I am using a syringe to give her water and she's eatting some of everything I'm giving her. She has been in the house since Christmas Eve and I don't know where to go from here? I go back to work on Tuesday and am not sure how long I should keep her in the house? I'm not one to give up, I think I'll try the neosporin on her eye and will continue to keep her bottoms clean.
Anyone? Ideas? I'm at a loss
