I will try to make this short....We had 7 sex link chickens, lost 4 to predators, we have secured the chicken playpen and the coup which is inside the playpen so they are safe at night as well.
We wanted to add to our flock and some sources said you can't and some gave instructions on adding.
So we got 2 hens that are about 4 months old.
One of the gold star hens chased them around a bit but never really hurt them, they are all learning to live together.
But...One of the original Black Star chickens has now lost a whole lot of feathers (we were out of town for a couple of days).
We have 3 cameras on them but could not see who may have done this to her or if she did it to herself during the night? She is a passive chicken and the new ones did not bother her at all in fact the 2 new ones go up in the loft part of the coup with her at night. Any ideas or suggestions? Thoughts? She seems to walk different too.
