Chicken feed in SF Bay Area?

Martin Brothers Supply in Mill Valley near Tam Junction has feed (including organic) and other supplies. Let me know if you find anything in the city!

Hi everyone,
I still didn't find anything in the city but I did do some research.

I wound up going all the way down to Los Altos to Pet Food Depot which is right on El Camino. I bought a 50-lb bag of Startena (grower) for about $18 there. This is a growing formula for game birds but it works well for chickens as well. The guy at the store told me I could just feed them what is left of the chick starter and then switch to this, then switch to laying formula when they start laying in 4 or 5 months.

There was a store that is closer to SF in San Mateo, also on El Camino. I overshot it on our drive down south and wound up stopping at Pet Food Depot.

I found a chicken feed and supply dealer IN SAN FRANCISCO!!!

Bernal Beast (in Bernal Heights):
509 Cortland Ave
San Francisco

I just heard that they are having a sale in July on chicken feed and supplies. Everything will be 20% off!

Hi Everyone,

Okay I just found another place in San Francisco that sells chicken feed too! Its the Sunset District and its called Animal Connection on Judah Street. I was there to purchase some crickets and lo and behold they sell chicken feed. No big 50 pound bags, just smaller 5 pounders (well at least thats what it looked liked).

Hello fluffhead-

I'm a new member here, and new to urban chicken keeping too for that matter, but I did just go searching for a source of feed myself and I found a very surprising source for ORGANIC feed in Berkeley! You may already know of it by now, but the newly opened biofuel station at Sacramento and Ashby, "Biofuel Oasis", sells organic layer feed in large bags. They had pellets and mash when I was there a couple weeks ago. They also have a number of other interesting items for the "Urban Farmer", FYI.

Cheers

Yep, I am super glad to have found a local supply of organic feed. I was seriously considering ordering it from somewhere like MPC and paying the shipping charges. Yikes.

Close is where I get all my chicken stuff as well as my 4 chickens. Never had any problems other than one of my chicks turned out to be a rooster....

Only place I know of is Half Moon Bay Feed And Fuel but that's in Half Moon Bay. Oh! There's a place in Watsonville but....That's Watsonville. So sorry I can't be more helpful!
