Chicken Feed

Without flowers during this time of year the bees are probably attracted to the colors of the corn and possible miniscule smell of fermenting grains. A false spring like were having here in Oklahoma (72 yesterday), may them out foraging for anything they can get their "wings" on.

Thanks for the posts. I went out yesterday (65 degrees here) and found bees in the feed. I usually give my girls (and one guy) a small scoop of layens crumbles first thing in the morning when I let them out of their coop. I have a small flat feed pan that I use just for this purpose. I saw bees all around the dish on the ground and later in the afternoon the bees were inside the coop going for dust that was on the floor from the feeders. My chickens didn't seem to mind, they are eating their food out of the dish and then leaving it alone when it is dust for the bees. Talk about nature cooperating!
