chicken feet for dogs

like sandman said you can give dogs chicken has long has its not cooked we use alot of the diff chicken parts for our dogs and they love it ..

For those of you who have eaten them, what on there do you eat? The skin? Do you crunch the bones? Is there a patch of meat in there I'm not aware of? My husband has mentioned eating a chicken foot before and he said it was good but when I ask him these questions I get a dumb look and shrugged shoulders with an, "I don't know." :/

Fwiw I am researching this now and this post came up. For dogs the best practice seems to be to trim the toenail off and dehydrate for several days bones and all until crisp. Or give them raw, but dehydrated gives a better shelf life, and these cost about a dollar each in specialty dog stores!!! Our Cornish cross feet are quite meaty and I didn't want them to go to waste, so hopefully our dogs like them!

No - the dog will not connect the chicken feet they are given to the feet the live birds are walking around on.

You have so many comments, RAW chicken bones won't hurt a dog except the little pin bones in the neck. Depending on the size of the dog you can just give them from the freezer raw. i would give my 3lb chihuahua a whole one. They were eating raw bones way before cooked ones; feet are mostly cartilage good stuff.

Wonder what idiot came up with that! I bet someone who was trying to sell dog food, and couldn't make a buck because people would feed chicken remnants to their dogs. My family been feeding chicken parts to dogs for generations. Not one of our dogs lived less then 12-14 years. Our oldest is Hungarian Sheepdog, aka Puli, now 22 he is blind as a bat but still can smell that tasty chickenfeet and he loves em!
