Chicken First Aid Kit and Beyond

Help! Chip was doing so good, was strong, and walking fairly well so I reintroduced her to the flock. She did well for two days in and around the coop without any problems. This morning she was attacked by the rooster while out in the run. She has a puncture wound on her head and one on her neck. I cleaned with saline. I just gave her some diluted baby aspirin for pain. She is trilling and making happy chick noises as I hold her. What else can I do for her? She looks like she was in a boxing match and lost bless her! She will NOT be rejoining the flock!

I wish I knew more, all I can say it to keep doing what you’re doing, keep her warm and comfortable until she heals.

please don’t put young birds with roosters, the rooster probably did that to try and mate with her,he might have done that because she tried to eat food while the rooster was eating it,I never let my birds join a flock until they are old enough that’s why I have two coops one big and one small, you can build her a coop and try to put other younger birds in it until they reach the right age,but for now just keep her with yourself until she heals completel.
