Chicken folklore, also known as old wive's tales

One of the dumbest ones! I had roosters that would not shut up. Even one that seemed to crow in his sleep.

Here is another that I hear still:

Tie a ring or needle to a string and hold it over an egg. Depending on the way the object swings you can tell what the egg will be.

I can't remember the exact meanings of the swings beside if the object sits still and never moves then the egg is not fertile.
 
If a feather lands on your left shoulder you will have good luck coming, on your right means tragedy coming. (Or is it the other way around?)

ETA I wish my roo's knew about the morning crowing thingy!
