Chicken found dead ... causes?

This is most likely not the cause - I would suspect a crop issue since the picture shows a balding - bulging crop. Did the rest of her body feel super skinny? Or the opposite - was the area above the vent swollen like a water balloon?

She has always been on the smaller side. Nothing near her vent was swollen. I don't know much about crop issues... Didn't realize that could cause balding. She didn't lose her feathers quickly. It had been 3-4 weeks which is why I thought maybe a molt. I am so sad. We are actually out of town & our housesitter found her
