Will read this, thanks! How can I prevent this in the rest of my flock? Any thoughts?

What do you feed your chickens? Gout has many different causes, and heredity is one of them. Too much protein, salt, vitamin D, or vitamin A in the diet can be a cause. Mycotoxin or mold is another cause. The protein in the diet should be between 16 and 20%. Please read all of the articles that were posted. In post 8, the Poultry Site article has good info on causes. Sometimes you cannot prevent gout. Manynof us have never seen it in our flocks.
