Chicken friendly snacks

A treat should only make up 10% of a hens total diet. Fruits and vegetables make great healthy treats. My girls love lettuce, cucumbers, tomatoes, strawberries and blueberries.

Watermelons are great for a hot day. Eat it and give the rinds to the birds.
Veggies in general are great treats too. :)
Basically any leftover scraps fed sparingly, the chickens will enjoy.

No need to buy them anything specific, they're usually happy with scraps of whatever you're done with. Corn for example... I just give them the stripped cobs and they enjoy that. Carrots, I eat the carrot and give them the tops. Winter squash, they love the guts, etc.

Exactly my thought...I don't buy treats for my flock at the grocery story. I clean out the fridge BEFORE going to the grocery store, and THAT'S the chicken treats. :D
