My local farm supply has 4 different brands of layer pellets but nothing else but medicated chick crumbles. My chicks are 10 weeks old and I really don't want to feed them the high protein starter and feeding them the high calcium layer pellets is a no-no. The feed store has turkey finisher. It is 16% protein with no extra calcium. What could be the difference between turkey finisher and chicken grower? Do they add something into turkey feed that chickens couldn't eat?

If you have access to a TSC store, they sell a chick starter/grower for chickens, ducks, geese, turkeys, quail, pheasant and chukar. It's 16%. Their turkey finisher is 15%. I don't see that there would be a problem.
