I recently purchased and set up my standard chicken guard auto door opener... my question is

1) Does the door only open twice a day? Once to let out and once to let chickens back in?? I ask because my hens do not just lay eggs before noon.. I get eggs at during the evening and as late as 4pm.. I want them to keep laying them in the coop.

2) How long does the door stay open? I have 13 hens.. I want them all to get in.

Just seeing if anyone else bought this product and knows. Thanks

I just bought an auto hen door too. I believe you set it to open at whatever time you want - like 6:00 am. Then you program it to close at a certain time - like 8:00 pm. So, it stays open all day. They come and go as they please. Hope that helps. Not sure what you were asking.

Well I ask cause my door opened then closed again... and didn't stay open like I thought it would. That's why I'm asking. I even programed it twice to be sure..

This product, correct? https://www.chickenguard.com/product/standard/ So it's strictly set to timer and does not have a light sensor?

It's supposed to stay open between the hours you set. Right now mine is programmed to open at 7:50 AM, and close at 9:30 PM. If it's opening or closing at some time other than what you set, I'd contact the company and see if they can troubleshoot it, because it's not supposed to work that way.

Yeah, I called the Support Center and I was told (after playing with the door and talking to the nicest British guy ever), I was told that in his 5 years of working with the company he has never heard of this happening. So they are sending me an updated new version for free because it is not working correctly. Thank you so much for everyone who answered my questions though! :)
