Chicken had a hard time laying a egg and now she is sluggish.

She was in the nest box for over an hour this morning. We left and came back this afternoon to find no egg in the nest box and her on the ground with an egg nearby that looked like hers. We let them out and she was acting sluggish. She pooped this white mucus and I gave her nutridrench and oregano. I have felt for an egg and cannot feel anything. Help!

WHAT in the world is she drinking?

If she was sitting near an egg I'd guess that she laid it.

I didn't even think it to be the Nutri Drench....I prefer to give it straight to the beak.
I thought for a second it was ACV water overload.

Laying an egg is hard work...
As long as she is drinking I'd give her time to get her "energy" back.

What do you feed your flock?

Not offended at all! She's a new layer. This was *maybe* her third egg. She just switched from nutrena chick starter grower to their naturewise layer feed.

Give her time to get her pipe work figured out.

I'd offer her some crushed up egg shells on the side/free choice for a week or two for now.
