Chicken had a hard time laying a egg and now she is sluggish.

Her underside currently. She's walking in slow motion, but drinking and she's walking around a tiny bit and starting to peck at the grass ever so slightly.

She looks a bit angry that you took and posted a picture of her dirty backside for everyone to see!

When my chickens get dirty backsides, I bring them in for a warm epsom salt bath to clean away that stuff back there. Air dry.

That dirty booty looks kinda yellow...
Could be she is trying to pass a broken egg.

Time for a spa treatment.
Warm epsom salt soak...a good 20 mins or so.
Keep giving her the Tums too.

Thanks so much!! Got her in some warm epson salts bath now. She fought me a little at first but has settled down now. Lol. I was happy she was fighting me. That means she has strength in her, right. ;)

Hahaha! I was timing her for 30 mins. At the 25 min mark she hopped out on her own refused to go back in. Hoping that helped some!

Not having had this breed, is that her normal posture? Try not to handle very much, do not want any egg to break it's shell inside, if it has not already. That could bring on an infection . . .

Is it nice and warm where you are? You do not want her chilled and tighten up all those nice relaxed muscles! I use a blow dryer on my parrots, on low carefully!
