Hi there.
Please come over to this thread. Read from The beginning. Everything you need to know is already written out. Feel free to introduce yourself and comment. This lady is dealing with almost the exact same injury on her chicken, same area of the body even, but hers was attacked by an possum.
Here’s the link.

hi there I live in peterbouorgh in the UK. The wound is quite deep but seems to have dried up a little I concerned about the lump u can see in the wound. I have trimmed feathers around it and cleaned it with warm water. She was breathing a little erratic yesterday but seems to a little better this morning. Unfortunately we don't have a tractor supply that u can get chickens stuff from . I have have checked for other wounds and there's only this big one. She doesn't seem interested in good or water so I have been dripping water in the Beak about ever 30mins or so.@hector92 Where are you located in the world (country/state)?
Thank you for the photo of the wound - how deep does that hole go?
If you can give more information that would be great.
Is your chicken (hen?) alert and able to eat/drink on her own?
Have you looked for other wounds/puncture wounds that may be hidden under the feathers?
It looks like you put BluKote or similar on the wound. That is fine. I would try to trim away any feathers that may get stuck in ointments, it will help it stay a bit cleaner. You can use triple antibiotic ointment on the wound as well. I'm concerned about how far that wound goes, is your hen breathing o.k.?
Since you have no vet care, do you happen to have any antibiotics on hand or if you are in the US do you have a feed store like Tractor Supply?
When you have time, a photo of the whole chicken would be good.
Keep us posted.
