We adopted a 1 year old Blue Ameracauna Chicken about 6 weeks ago. I didnt expect her to lay right away, but she still has not.
She had been laying before we got her, and i figured with the move and stress it might be a couple weeks until we got a egg from her. She was acting broody for the first few weeks and staying in the nesting boxes all day....not sitting on eggs tho, I checked.
Now, she seems way less stressed and is getting along with the other chickens fine, eating and drinking, and hanging out outside on the roots all day long with the other hens. Not being broody at all anymore.
Is there anything else I can do for her? I read up on Egg Bound hens and she has none of the signs or symptoms of being egg bound.
Thanks!
