Quick question guys, one of my black Orps seems to have injured one of her legs. Can apply a little weight, but holds it tucked at all other times. I examined it, found no breaks, and no pain response at all to the leg when touched. Is it possible this is just a sprain, and is this normal for chickens to twist or sprain their legs? Thanks guys.

Can you post any pictures of her leg? Look at the footpad and toes for scabs for bumblefoot or black skin which could be frostbite. Injuries are very common with high roosts or from horseplay. Fractures are not always apparent. If no dark skin or scabs, she may benefit from forced rest in a dog crate with her own food and water in the coop with others. It can take weeks for an injury to heal, and I would let her out daily to stretch and watch her walking for improvement.

I am noticing a swollen ankle, with a spread between the "scales" on the top of her right foot
