The other day I was thinking that a possible cross between a broad breasted Turkey tom with a CornishX hens would produce very large progeny(by AI ofcourse), but the Churk(chicken turkey hybrid) were exceedingly hard to produce and the ones that hatched were just not healthy enough.

Some info on the Churks

But it would appear that a better cross would be between a male peacock and CornishX by AI would produce such large fast growing hybrids.

A youtube video of such cross.

The hardest part of this experiment would be Milking the Peacocks, a few years ago I tried to milk a rooster to do some AI experiments but I was not successful at all.

This is the video I used to learn how to milk a rooster, it seems straight forward but my rooster just did not want to do it.

Guinea fowl and chickens mate quite successfully, perhaps that should be a good experiment to see how fast they grow and the breast size?

What say you?

Never had them but have heard good things about them. I think they are ready for eating around 12 weeks. They are supposed to have a better tasting meat than the regular chicken that you would get at the market (cornish x rocks). And they are supposed to be a hardier healthier bird that can live a long happy live unlike the cornish crosses. They are also supposed to be good foragers that do well free range.

If one had the space, money and time to try such a project, I don't know why they would use peafowl or CornishX.
The Cornish Rock Cross are already a hybrid of two chicken breeds so won't breed true. A better option would be to acquire some of the grandparent white Cornish used to make today's meat birds. That may not be possible since those genetics are closely held secrets.
