But is there anything other type of rock that they could be!?
 
Sure, they could be black Rocks but they aren't because you'd have to search for a breeder to get those -- they are rare.

I also want to point out that barnyard mix is the most likely "breed" if you bought these somewhere other than a hatchery or feed store.
 
I got them at a feed store an they came in a nutrena box... I know that's one of BYC's sponcers so maybe that helps... There picture was on the box... They must be the same breed
 
Nutrena is a feed manufacturer. They probably give boxes to the feed store for the advertising.
 
It is really hard to tell what they are unless, the bin you got them in have identification tags on them. Most feed stores tell you what is in there bins. Go back to the feed store and see what was in the bins. I know TSC usually has photos and breed names above each bin.
