they are georgeous chickens! so brilliant and unique.....maybe next batch in a few years.....what do their eggs look like? are they harder to care for than other types of chickens?

Everyone is hiding from the heat in the coop today, so I grabbed my camera for some chicken portraiture.

My cockerel, One, was particularly camera-friendly today:









Lurch is a little more skittish, but he still stepped up and struck a handsome pose:



The Comets never need encouragement and spent most of the time pecking at my legs in search of food:
