I have 12 ISA browns. They are many variations and colors. I have a dark one, she almost looks like a hawk. Anyway...she seems to be a loner. Shes not picked on, but she let's everyone else eat and she will wait. I just hope shes getting enough food. she looks healthy, but wonder why she separates herself.
she will go into the main coop pen by herself and just sit in her dust bathing spot. At first in the brooder she seemed to be one of the girls in charge. Any ideas would be appreciated. Maybe I just worry too much.

I think she got knocked down her pecking order. My Wyandotte was boss till the 2 roosters got old enough to take the top spot. So now I see her roaming around by herself without the flock. When I'm out there she spends a lot of time with me because of it. She's now the last to eat also.

I agree, she’s probably low on the pecking order. I’ve noticed a couple of my low ranking birds tend to spend more time on their own. I have several groups of different ages and it seems there’s always one that keeps to herself more than the others.

Thank you for the input. It just makes me feel so bad for her.😥 I try to give her some treats while the others are eating theirs and they just run over to try and gobble up hers. Odd how they can get dropped in their pecking order especially since I have 4 birds that are a week younger than the rest. She is also one of my less hand friendly girls. All of the others will come to me. Guess I have to keep working with her on that note.
Thanks so much. I love BYC, everyone is so helpful.

I have two just like her. One is one I call my 16 week old lead pullet and the other used to be my smaller quiet one. Now the later is the same as the others in size but still shy. She is friends with all but always careful. She gets her share and eats after the others tire out. I just always be sure to always put out enough.
