We introduced 2 new chicks to our now 5 chicken flock last summer. One of them is definitely lowest on the pecking order but lived with the others in the same coop and run throughout our long MN winter with no problems. In the past 1-1.5 weeks we noticed she is missing most of the feathers from the top of her head and there is slight bleeding. We suspect one or more of the other chickens are pecking her though we haven't witnessed it. She is fully grown, lays eggs daily and her behavior seems normal around the rest of the flock. We know who the dominant chicken in the flock is and are pretty sure its her doing most of the damage. I thought I read it works well to separate the violent chicken for a few days to reduce its overly aggressive behavior. Is that true or is there another method to reduce this behavior?

:welcomeDominance in the form of fighting/bullying can sometimes be modified by isolating the bully. This sounds more like feather pecking. Do an on site search on Pin Less Peepers. They may help correct this behavior.
