I noticed my Plymouth Barred Rock,Luna, was gasping for air last Sunday and immediately quarantined her. After that I saw she was sneezing once and a while. I picked up some vetrx and have men giving some of that every night which seems to help. We think it could be a cold but we are not sure. Lately she has only been gasping for air when being picked up or stressed out. And then today another one of my chickens was closing her eyes frequently and keeping them closed. Do you think she is sick and caught it from the Plymouth Rock?? I haven’t gotten an egg from either of these birds since a week ago. I would like some advice on how to treat these birds and maybe some ideas on what they have. Thanks!

Chickens can get one of a handful of respiratory diseases, such as infectious bronchitis, mycoplasma gallisepticum, coryza, ILT, and aspergillosis. Poor air circulation, mold, dust, or other allergans can increase the likelihood of respiratory diseases. A nonsymptomatic carrier or wild birds can bring in respiratory diseases. They can be tracked in on shoes and by visiting other poultry flocks. Here are some of the common diseases and symptoms:
