I was raking up some pine needles (what I now use for bedding) out in the pines and the chickens were hovering waiting for some sort of treat.
One of my Buff Orpingtons jumps in and grabs a Gray Tree Frog (like this one here: http://www.michigan.gov/dnr/0,1607,7-153-10370_12145_12201-60110--,00.html )
I couldn't get it away from her and finally thought "Eh, they eat mice all the time, what could it hurt."
Well now she's shaking her head and itching her mouth, and her eyes are a little teary (not enough to actually make falling tears, but you can see them welling up a little bit on her eye balls).
I'm sure the frog gave off some sort of secretion, but anyone know if it's toxic? These frogs are really common around here.
