The reds are really growing combs! And I cant believe the ducks! Can you believe they are only bout 10 Weeks old? AND I got four eggs today.....I only have three laying age chickens? LOL someone is an overachiever!

They sure grow fast...LOL speaking of overachiever...one day I gathered 16 eggs but only have 15 girls..what's up with that?
My guess is I had one lay late and I didn't see it.
well its Christmas Eve and I'm beat...merry Christmas to you and your whole homestead.

Seems. Like only last week I was telling my grandma bcs story..it'll be hard not having her with us this Christmas.

Well we are up to 8 hens laying!!! Cept one keeps dropping a rubber egg from the roost at night? I think it will sort itself out though. One thing though. I NEVER see Mr Rooster Man cover Big Chicken!! I want some chicks from her but if he don't like her then what? Why would he shun her? lol. I have checked her eggs when cooking and have not seen one fertile yet.
And Tater tot. Since you live only a few hours away maybe if I get some chicks from her I could drive two hours and you drive two and we could meet up with them? Just a thought but after all this I would love to meet you! If not its ok. Are you on any other social media? Facebook? I have an image in my mind of you but would love to see you!! Feel like we were ment to meet?

If rooster man prefers his own kind...IV heard some do...maybe you will get a ee roo with your new chick order.
Its been a tuff time for my dds...they still cry about grandma...

It always makes me happy to gather my ladies eggs...got 15/15 for a alittle while...but afew has stopped I'm guessing cause their eggholes are a bit puckered...LOL...I laugh cause I check their vent area if I find watery poo...and feathers my ee...well hers was puckered and looked like it was chewing gum...LOL

Rooster man seems to love to grab the girls combs....im wondering if its cus BC really does not have one. Not like the reds. we will see. Im ordering both the RIR and the EE as pullets....and well. we know how that went last year lol but I am getting the cochin straight run. Plus any packing peanuts they put in should be roos. Gonna need at least one more roo. right now I have 17 hens and one roo lol. He is going to need some help.

I have heard people getting orders from the hatchery and they always get a bonus chick, and they often turn out to be a rooster.

I was thinking about getting a few Cochins...what's the best setters? Standard or bantam?
Easter eggers are harder to sex when chicks...they have a pea comb..
He may just prefer his own kind...maybe he's a comb kinda Guy...
I still have zero roos but I may raise a couple....still working my plans out...cause I want to house my he devils in a separate house...that way I can do what I need then let him out with them.
I can't free range but they will have plenty of room to work.
