Since EEs are hybrids, there is a chance they will go broody. Do you have a video of her?

Before you give her chicks or eggs, put a egg in front of her and see if she tucks it under her. Then to make sure she is willing to sit, give her golf balls and see if she will sit for a long period.

Broodys also lay flat like a pancake on the nest.

I was going to try with some dummy eggs. I am worried that she would sit for a little bit then quit. Now that you mention it she was hunkered down pretty low in there. She is not due to lay until tomorrow I will get out the dummy eggs.

Watch YouTube video ....broody hen in December...Easter eggers make a funny sound when they go broody..my rir get all nasty squalky when I bother them.
If she is broody I would have her set on plastic eggs til your bator chicks hatch ..then I'd put one or two under her at night..and so on...make sure she takes them as her own before adding more
they can go broody...some sit some don't

Ok everyone! Its been one heck of a winter!! Wish it was over lol. ANyway. Big Chicken became a mom!! And I hope to get newer pics tomorrow as the chick has really feathered in since I took these. Anyone want to guess what it will look like and if its a roo or pullet? I think it will be a roo cus I want it to be a pullet lol BUT it has really put on the feathers so im hopfull.

Ee are tricky...I have 4 and two I could have swore were roos...you can't use comb or feathers until saddle feathers pop out..mine all turned out to be pullets...even my big one with thick legs.

YES!!! Do this!! LOL. It just gotten so big. Im thinking the same thing. I only have room for one more rooster and it needs to be one of the Gold Laced Cochin....Im putting a few more of her eggs in the bator in the next few days so we will see. Figure it this way. If its a roo and I have to get rid of it, it will be spoiled and sweet lol. Loves to snuggle.

It looks like a rooster to me.
