Chicken keeps laying down

Free ranging my group today and one hen keeps laying down. She does it every fewinutes even hough she is till eating. Just rests her hocks to the ground like her legs are too tired to hold her up? She is almost 3 mos old. Any ideas, should I be worried?

I wouldn't be, mine do that all the time and dig out holes for dusting in.

Just wait until you see the "death" stretch, they lay down on their side, stretch their legs out and spread out a wing. Then they just lay there without moving. I had 2 scare me like that. they were just "sunning" themselves.

Yeah, the sunning thing can catch you off guard the first time...now we are just like "oh, look, a patch of dead chickens, lol"
I don't have a good sunbathing one loaded here, but this is a close up of my roo sunbathing.

Yeah, I've seen The sunbathing death pose and dusting. It's neither, which is why i was concerned and she is the only one doing it. They are in shade, she walks about a foot, scratches, starts eating and then sits down and continues eating. Stay in that spot a few minutes gets up and repeats. Otherwise she seems fine

You didn't mention what breed she is, is she the same as all the others. She might just be lazy think you should name her daisy ha ha

Did you ever find out what was wrong with your chicken? I have a 6-7 month old coronation Sussex that is doing this. Everything sees normal but she lays down a lot.

I have 5 blue copper marans and one is laying down almost constantly. Abiut 3 months old. First batch of chickens, so I'm worried too.
