If I had to guess, it's gotta be a territorial thing, we got rid of our phoenix hen babies because our big girls would chase them..... after seeing what happened to the sparrow... we were sure they would had, had the same demise..

They now reside on a great farm!!!

Around my house there are always hawks and vultures flying around, they have never gotten any of my chickens thankfully... But they do seem interested in them.

merged the young chicks with the hens the other day... and IT HAPPENED AGAIN!!! They all got together and killed another sparrow...

My girls were all out free ranging today with my ducks and they all tried to catch a sparrow!

Mine have gone cannibalistic on ones that were killed by hawks are owls. By the time I found them there would be nothing left but bones and wings. Have small birds land in the chicken yard all the time and have never winessed an attack.

My chickens all say that chicken taste just like chicken.

You know that your chickens are smart when they realize that they like the way that other chickens taste.
