Hi all,
I have taken some advice and decided to start a new topic for my beautiful chicken.
We collected 4 P.O.L chickens on Mother's day (9 DAYS AGO) and 2 days later, my chicken laid a soft shell-less egg which the other 3 pounced on and ate immediately. Since then we have found 3 more egg shells - shell-less, squidgy type shells - which shoes she is still laying soft eggs. The other 3 are all laying to time now - every morning, but last night, my chicken laid another shell-less egg.
She spends most of her time lying down, then getting up for a nibble, then plopping down again as though life is just a bit much for her!!!! They have a lovely big run in our 120' garden, have access to food and drink all day, have little treats here and there, but she just lays down most of the day. The squidgy eggs are beginning to worry me as it cannot be a calcium defficiency because all of the other 3 are laying lovely eggs. She's eating her crushed oyster shells, but she just wants to lay down for most of the day.
Has anyone any ideas.
Many thanks
