One of my Rhode Island Reds, least she's sposed to be a RIR, lays a white egg. Not off white or light brown but WHITE.
California Greys look very similar to barred rocks, but lay white eggs. Does she seem to be just a little smaller than the average Barred Rock?
She will still be a very good layer since California Greys were created by crossing Barred Rocks with Leghorns.
