I own a partridge brahma who is always very lively. She is about 1-2 years old. She has been hiding away from the others and refusing to eat or drink. She also hasn't laid her daily egg (which she hasn't missed in months). She has only started exhibiting symptoms today, but I am still very worried about her. None of the other chickens are showing the same symptoms as her. There are no signs of trauma, but I am still very worried. I know that she has been laying eggs with thin shells for a while, and only yesterday did I put out oyster shells for them. I managed to get her to eat about five pieces of oatmeal out of my hand, but I couldn't get her to drink. Her poop is very runny and white (it even sometimes bubbles). I checked her to see if she was egg bound, but I didn't feel anything. She is now in a coop separate from the others with a nice bed and grass flooring.

Welcome to BYC! I am sorry she isn' feeling well.
Can you post a picture of her poop?
Can you take some of the poop to a vet today to get a fecal test for worms?
A dog vet can perform this test, call you nearest one and ask them, it's cheep!

We are very poor and can't afford a vet. She hasn't pooped in a while, but I'll take her out and keep an eye out until she does.

You don't have to take her to a vet, you can take just the poop for the test.
Call and ask..it's only 10 bucks at my vet. A phone call is free.
BUT if that is just not an option we can guess that she may have worms

The best thing to do is hydrated her.
Would you be willing to tube feed her some water with electrolytes?

If she does not drink water she will die.

I use Valbazen. 0.08 ml per pound. Probably okay to round up to 0.1 ml per pound. Re-treat in 10 days. Gel a small, like 1 or 3ml syringe (no needle) and feed it to each bird. Some mix it with bread, but I prefer to make sure I know they're getting the full dose and it sounds like your gal isn't eating, so this is the best approach. And de-worm ALL the chickens, not just the lovely brahma since it's safe to assume they all have worms, although her load may be more extreme. Just like other animals, some carry heavy loads, others not so much, but when you de-worm one, it's best to de-worm all or they'll just reinfest each other. If you can manage it financially, pick up some Poly vi sol WITHOUT iron and feed her 3 or 4 drops to help boost her nutrition. Good luck with her!
