Chicken lethargic, weak , LOSING WEIGHT..Help PLEASE!

Also, my friend said: "Also, I noticed when I put them to bed they were throwing sticks and straw on they're backs, I suspected broodiness, but they weren't wanting to sit on eggs or anything."

Is she molting? I have had hens that are grumpy,lathargic and sick looking, just going through a hard molt. This might also explain why they are throwing straw on their backs, to keep them warmer.
Good luck! You said there had already been a death? Yes I would try getting some wormer,fast, from the feed store.

Crucial to hydrate and get nutrition into the sick birds. I know it is easier said than done but it's a must.....
If a vet is possible, hurry.

She could be egg bound.....if she's not under too much stress then I would try to feel for an egg. If you can feel one give her a warm bath, and try to massage the egg out.

I don't think two out of 5 hens would be egg bound in one day...
