the chicken coop
Please help, my 3 month old silkie pullet has chicken lice and I read they can be deadly to young chickens. I tried bathing her in warm water and they didn’t come off so I’m lightly rubbing her skin in peppermint oil- is that ok for her?? What is the fastest way to remove lice from a chicken??

Permethrin dust or spray, on all your birds, rather than the added stress of bathing. It would be best to also treat the coop and bedding the same day.
Lice can kill your birds, don't fool around with ineffective 'treatments'.

I don’t have any and can’t drive or anything so can’t get some :hitwhat do I do!

Anything with Permethrin will work; Poultry Dust, Permethrin 10 Spray (concentrate needs to be mixed), Martins Horse & Stable Spray, etc... You also need to clean out the coop of bedding and spray it down.

Where are you located? Can you get someone to pick some up for you?
