Chicken limping bumblefoot

@Chickmomi

So after spending more time looking at the pics it just looks like a fairly deep hole and some necrotic tissue. New tissue should have formed inside the hole as it healed. If it healed. I can't see all the way in from the angle.

The discoloration on the foot could be from the infection spreading. Or, if you did wrap it too tight or did an OK wrap but it became too tight when she stood or walked, the discoloration could be from lack of circulation. That also slows down healing. A warm epson salt soak might help the circulation. Not too warm because you don't want to cause more tissue damage.

Manuka honey or Medihoney can help it so that's why I suggested packing the hole with it

Due to its antibacterial activity, manuka honey can also prevent and treat wound infections caused by methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), a strain of staph bacteria that's resistant to many antibiotics.67

Do the whole 10 days of Amoxicillan. It may help with the salpingitis which may have caused the lash egg.

Okay can I still give Epsom salt bath even though it's an openwound? That was my concern we might have gone too deep and now she is injured. She is still not putting any weight on that leg and I am too scared to open the bandage and find her foot falling off or something. I will do a dressing change tomorrow but wondering if I should give her the Epsom soak? Maybe let it air out? I am stumped.

I would change the bandage not giving her another soak.

This is what her foot looks like now.
Is it dislocated? Or broken?

I would encourage you to skip the soaking.
Is there a place she can be kept to keep dirt out it.
That way you would not need a bandage.

Yea she is isolated from the crew in a crate and I left her like this overnight. She is right now on the deck to get some light. Did you see the last.pic, it looks like the bone is coming out. Is it just swelling going away? She isn't putting any weight on it.
